THOMAS BURR

Thomas Burr is a member of Greater Hartford Association of Realtors® (GHAR), the Connecticut Association of Realtors® & the National Association of Realtors®, as well as the Connecticut Real Estate Investors Association (CTREIA).  He also currently participates in the GHAR “Community Involvement Committee”.

Of note: Thomas Burr is an ABR®.  The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council (REBAC) of the National Association of REALTORS® who met the specified educational and practical experience criteria. Thomas is also e-PRO® certified, and as a real estate professional he has joined the ranks of a special community of highly skilled and continuously trained professionals who provide high quality and innovative online-based real estate services.  He is also certified in 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges. He received the 2008 “OnLine Marketing Award of Excellence” from REALTOR.com. Thomas Burr has been with SSG Real Estate from its start and was their top selling agent in 2004 & 2005, and top listing agent in 2006.

Thomas Burr is active in the community. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) CT, and NAMI of Manchester, which are groups which provide Support, Education and Advocacy for Consumers and Family Members of people affected by Mental Illness. Thomas was also the President of the Manchester Affiliate of NAMI from June 2007, to May 2009. The Manchester Affiliate was recognized as “2008 Affiliate of the Year” by NAMI-CT. Thomas is an active advocate for Supportive Housing for the Homeless; he received the “2008 Supportive Housing Advocacy Award” by the Reaching Home Campaign, which is part of the Partnership for Strong Communities; as well as the “2008 Public Policy Award” from NAMI-CT, and the “Individual Advocacy” and “Golden Pen” (2008) Awards from the “Keep the Promise” Coalition.

A Graduate of the Ohio Institute of Technology (BSEET), Thomas Burr is comfortable with the high-tech world of today in Real Estate.  He is a lifelong resident of Glastonbury, CT, where he lives with his wife, Francesca, and daughter Marisa. Prior to his career in Real Estate, Thomas worked in various customer service and field sales positions at the Hewlett-Packard Company.
